2-Day Shoebill & Birding Safari, Mabamba

Entebbe 2 days / 1 night 1–10 people Serengeti Horizons

About This Tour

Uganda is one of Africa's top birding destinations with over 1,090 recorded species. This 2-day safari focuses on the Entebbe peninsula and the famous Mabamba Swamp on Lake Victoria.

Mabamba Swamp is one of the most reliable places in Africa to see the prehistoric-looking Shoebill stork — one of the continent's most sought-after birds. You'll glide through papyrus channels in a traditional wooden canoe alongside malachite kingfishers, papyrus gonoleks, and African jacanas.

The Entebbe Botanical Gardens add Great Blue Turacos, African Grey Parrots, and dozens of sunbird species in a beautiful lakeside setting.

Decent but could improve

The wildlife sightings were good, but communication before the trip could have been better. The vehicle was a bit old. Food was excellent though.
