Dry Seasons (Best for Safari)
June – September: The best time for gorilla trekking and wildlife safaris. Dry trails, clear skies, and animals concentrate around water sources.
December – February: Another dry window perfect for combined gorilla and safari trips.
Wet Seasons (Budget-Friendly)
March – May: Heavy rains make trails muddy, but gorilla permits are easier to get and prices drop significantly. Birding is exceptional.
October – November: Short rains begin. Still good for safaris with lush green landscapes and fewer tourists.
Our Recommendation
For first-time visitors, June–September is ideal. Budget travelers should consider March–May for lower prices and equally incredible gorilla encounters.
